For those who are not fortunate enough to know her, Dale is a top-notch blogger, affiliate marketer, and avid traveler.
She has various blogs, books, and courses to her name. And she loves to teach people blogging and digital marketing.
Dale is also involved in Amazon Affiliate Marketing. And it seems she absolutely excels at it, making over $1000/month.
That being said, her journey wasn’t easy. She had to start from scratch and fail many a time, before, eventually figuring out the mantra of success to Amazon Affiliate Program.
And today, she’ll discuss the same, reveal some secret strategies, and lay a proven roadmap on how to succeed in affiliate marketing on Amazon and earn money online even when you’re asleep.

1: Dale, it’s immense pleasure to have you here. Please tell me something about yourself. And how your journey to online income got started?
Hello, everyone! My name is Dale and I’m the founder of Blogging Her Way.
I got started earning an income online as a college student when I was looking for a way to make some extra money. I tried several online business ventures (all of which failed) before finally learning about blogging.
Within six months of starting my first blog, I was earning over $1,000 a month. Now, just a few years later, blogging is my full-time job.
I have since, started five successful blogs, three of which I later sold for a profit.
2: What do you do to earn money online? How long did it take you to earn your first significant online income?
As a blogger, my income comes from several different sources which are:
- Affiliate Marketing- I earn money promoting other people’s products on my blog. I get paid a commission whenever someone makes a purchase through my affiliate link.
- Digital Products- I sell several digital products on Blogging Her Way, such as ebooks and online courses.
- Display Advertising- One of my other blogs earns the majority of its income through display ads from the Mediavine ad network.
- Sponsored Posts- I also occasionally accept sponsored posts, where a company pays me to write about them on my blog.
I actually made my very first affiliate sale within a month of starting my blog, but it took me about six months to earn a significant income ($1,000+ per month.)
3: You said, “Affiliate Marketing”. May I know which program you prefer & why?
While there are hundreds of affiliate programs out there, Amazon is my favorite because it has the most brand-name recognition.
Almost everyone shops on Amazon, and Amazon does a great job at getting people who visit their website to make a purchase.
So really your job as an affiliate is just to get someone to click your affiliate link. Then Amazon does the rest of the selling for you.
Although Amazon’s commission rates are pretty low compared to some other affiliate programs, you can more than make up for it in volume.
Additionally, you earn a commission on everything someone has in their cart (not just the product they originally clicked on.)
Finally, the Amazon affiliate program is available in several different countries, making it a good option for many bloggers.
It also works for bloggers in almost any niche, since Amazon sells all kinds of products.
4: What’s your master plan for Amazon Affiliate Marketing? What all you learned through the ups & downs in the way to your success?
One of the most important things I have learned is that the type of content you write is extremely important if you want to make money with the Amazon affiliate program.
You really need to consider your readers and whether they have buying intent. For example, someone searching for product reviews, product comparisons, gift guides, etc. typically has a buying intent already and is more likely to make a purchase. These are the types of keywords you want to target when writing affiliate blog posts.
Also, I’ve found that capitalizing on seasonal traffic and shopping (especially around Black Friday and Christmas) really helps boost your income.

5: Roughly, how much do you make each month via Amazon Affiliate Program? (On readers’ demand 😊)
It depends because my income from the Amazon affiliate program fluctuates seasonally.
But I recently sold a blog that was earning $1,000+ a month from the Amazon affiliate program.
I have another blog (in the travel niche) that currently earns several hundred dollars a month, which I expect to increase now that some people are starting to travel again. (Income was down for a while due to the pandemic!)
6: There are people reading this, who just came to know about this program, and are pretty excited about it. What will be your advice to them? How should they proceed? What to avoid?
If you’re new to blogging and affiliate marketing, the Amazon affiliate program can be a great way to earn money.
However, I would recommend waiting until you have a consistent level of traffic (for example, a minimum of 5,000 pageviews a month) before you apply to the program.
This is because they have a requirement that new affiliates must make three affiliate sales within 180 days in order to keep their accounts active.
It’s better to wait to apply once you know you can meet that requirement, rather than not making the qualifying sales and having to start all over again.
It’s also important to read the Amazon affiliate program’s terms and conditions thoroughly so you know what’s allowed and what’s not. (For example, it’s a huge no-no to click your own affiliate link and make a purchase, and this can get you banned!)
7: Anything else you would like to add?
